 Panoramas
of the Canadian Rockies

Below is a table of mountain panoramas that I have collected and
processed from my journeys through the Canadian Rockies over the
last few years. I haven't photographed panoramas for all of the
mountains on this site, just the ones that seemed to me worth while.
The images are organized into three different display options:
1. Java
2. VRML
3. Jpg.

The Java option
should always work, the VRML option depends on the client (that's
your browser) and JPG, is just an image.
One word of caution, if you
use dial-up for your internet connection, please be patient.
The Java and VRML
viewers have controls below each picture. You also have to point at
the picture, left click and drag the mouse to control the viewing
angle. Play with the controls to zoom in and out.
Hint:
If you have looked at the Mountains online, select File -
Work Offline in your IE browser to see them from your web cache.
That's
much faster.
he heights
charm us, but the steps do not; with the mountain in our view we
love to walk the plains.
Goethe, Johann Wolfgang Von
1749-1832, German Poet, Dramatist, Novelist
n the mountains the shortest
route is from peak to peak, but for that you must have long legs.
Aphorisms should be peaks: and those to whom they are spoken
should be big and tall of stature.
Friedrich Nietzsche
1844-1900, German Philosopher
ountains are to the rest of the
body of the earth, what violent muscular action is to the body of
man. The muscles and tendons of its anatomy are, in the mountain,
brought out with force and convulsive energy, full of expression,
passion, and strength.
