  • I find it interesting when I find something I have not seen, read, heard, experienced before. Each, draw me in as a river pulls me up and around each corner inviting new discoveries. The WEB is like that, a river to me. The pages always changing like the water always flowing. Addresses cryptologically hiding, like a book with dust on its cover asking what is inside. But not revealing its secret until the pages are experienced. This is also like a river that in times of flood, freezing and thawing changes its dynamic course to carve a new path in the same valley as before.
  • There are no "URLs not found, error 404" in a river's sweep. But, clues usually lead you to the new flow. It is here I discover that geography skills help guide me to the goal. A search yes, somtimes, and most times that enlists the aid of others or their (tools) be it a compass or the signs of what time it is and where is the sun. The other tool that for me is easy "the pattern, what is the pattern, what is this similar too", then find it, use it and store it in my mind's backpack. Adapting tools from what you have and what you need, to get where you need to go helps keep your backpack light. But only experience can teach you this; what you need, can make and make do with, are the necessities. The rest leave at home.
  • I have tools like the waders my friend Craig wears in the picture, they leak a little and my feet get wet. After a long day they (my feet) are even a little webbed but this helps me feel a little bit like an amphibian. I can live in the world of wilderness and the world of web. It is not unlike discovering a secret which allows me to metamorphasize and understand myself a little more.
